For those who support Alignment Ministries. Here is one of the missionaries you are helping. Thank you for faithfully giving.
Hello Friends and Partners in Ministry, Â
We are very thankful that you support us with your prayers and financial support. Let me tell you a little about the circumstances in which we now live and work. Russian shelling does not stop, and its intensity is increasing. The rockets hit two power plants, and therefore, we are without electricity for six to twelve hours per day. Thanks to your donations, we will be able to purchase generators and battery-powered packs to help get us through these hours.
We thank God for your prayers for us. In my last letter, I told you that we could not travel around Ukraine because it is very difficult and dangerous. However, God has opened up opportunities for us to serve in our city and the Kyiv region. A large fellowship took place in our city with pastors, deacons, and preachers of all churches in our region.Â
In this meeting, we discussed the various problems we are facing due to the war. I thank God that I had the opportunity to remind the brothers of the importance of evangelizing the Jewish people and to discuss a joint plan of action with some pastors.
Nevertheless, God gave me the opportunity to visit three churches in Kyiv. It was a blessed time. We reminded them about the importance of serving the Jewish people. Even though Ukraine needs help, we as a church can help the Jewish people who live among us.
Unfortunately, there is sad news. In previous letters, I talked about how we had a ministry for the children of immigrants, among whom were children from Jewish families. Dmitry himself was a Jewish man who believed in Jesus. He was an artist who not only taught children how to draw but also took the opportunity to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to children and their families. He left us this month; his heart gave out at 54 years of age. We pray that God will comfort his family and friends.
Lydia is an elderly Jewish woman who lives next door. We met her at the beginning of the war, in March 2022. Ira and I tried to help the elderly with food and water on the most difficult days. We thank God for your open hearts and donations for such needs. Since then, we have maintained good relations with many neighbors, especially with this woman. Her son was drafted into the army and is at the front. Her daughter-in-law recently gave birth to their second child, David. The birth was difficult and afterward, the doctors fought for David’s life. During these difficult times, she asked for prayers for her grandson. Today David is fine. Although she had not yet come to Christ,
she thanked us for our prayers. In gratitude for the prayers, this woman prepared sweet buns and asked us to give them to people in the church. We pray that she and her entire family will turn to the Lord.
Thank you for staying with us. God performs miracles through your prayers for us.
With love in Christ,
Vladimir and Irina Akimov
