No sin exists that He hasn't already forgiven
God the Father, I AM, forgives by taking it on Himself. He becomes sin to make us righteous
And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. 6 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. Exodus 34:5–7.
First, I ask you to notice that when the LORD, the great I AM, tells us who He is, He is not only merciful, gracious, super patient, loaded down with faithful goodness, and keeps His promises and mercies, but He is also the Forgiver.
Whenever I argue with my wife, she is super adept at using synonyms. I will say, “Why are you mad?” She will say, “She is not mad, but I know better. I have been living with her for over 51 years.” So I say, “OK, you are not mad, but are you upset, not happy, angry, hurt, or some other synonym?”
God covers all the bases here. He says I forgive it all.
Forgiving
To forgive means to release, let go, take the sin off the account, separate, or divorce. That is what God does. He takes the sin off your account. He has done that for the entire world.
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
II Corinthians 5:19.
Notice two great truths that are often overlooked—make that three.
God was in Christ
God was in Christ. Jesus does not love you, while the Father hates you. God the Father didn’t maliciously kill His Son. You can’t separate the Trinity. God is God. He is not schizophrenic. God wasn’t mad at Jesus for loving us. God the Father was in Christ on the cross. That is a great truth to consider for a minute.
reconciling the world unto himself
Another truth in this same passage is that God in Christ reconciled the world unto Himself. He paid the price for salvation for all men everywhere. He is salvation. God loves the world and wants all to be saved. Jesus took the sins of the entire world on Himself on the cross, and God was in Christ that day, reconciling the world unto Himself.
not imputing their trespasses unto them
The third truth is that He does not impute, count, or put their trespasses, sins, or rebellions on anyone’s account. He paid them, and they are in His account. So when He says He is a forgiver, He forgives all, even the soldiers who tortured and killed Him. “I AM” doesn’t see sin, only the person. He separates sin from you. God took your sin. He forgives or sees you separate from your sin.
Iniquity
Iniquity refers to our guilt, punishment, shame, misdeed, sin, and wickedness. The word iniquity refers to a depraved action, a crime to be punished by the judges, perversity, and depravity. Iniquity refers to moral worthlessness. An act or feeling that transgresses something forbidden or ignores something required by God’s law or character, whether in thought, feeling, speech, or action.
When “I AM” forgives, He takes away the burden and the weight of your sin as the offender. He takes our sins on Himself and pays for our sins. “I AM” forgives our perversity, depravity, wickedness, and guilt.
Transgression
Transgression refers to rebellion, to the transgression of a relationship. It is a revolt, trespass, offense concerning property, crime, and defection. Transgression focuses on the rebellious nature of sin, which is evildoing. It is wrongdoing, wickedness, fault, or misdeed.
In short, transgression describes humanity’s rebellion against its relationship with “I AM.” Adam and Eve rebelled by eating the forbidden fruit.
We have rebelled against God and doing our own thing. That is transgression.
Sin
God uses a third word to tell us what He forgives. This word is the one we most often use: sin. Sin is wickedness, an offense to a moral standard. Again, sin is moral worthlessness and refers to the actions of wrongdoing, evil devising, or false speaking.
The basic meaning is to miss a mark or a way. It is any action, word, desire, purpose, or omission contrary to the law of God. It is failing to comply with divine law. So sin is an offense to morality. It is a voluntary violation of, or failure to comply with, the divine law.
Think
Like the illustration with my wife, there can be many synonyms for a word, and God gives us three massive words that cover the gamut. He wants us to know that He forgives it all. There is nothing you have done that He has not already forgiven. You are forgiven before you ask.
“I am” is all of this love and forgiveness, but He doesn’t ignore sin. Think of the lies you have believed about our Father. You think of Him as a tyrant watching you to find your faults. It feels as if God has abandoned you and your life. you are on your own. God has abandoned you? “I AM” only loves you when you do good. God loves to give rules and judge us. God can’t wait to find fault and judge. That is not what God says about Himself. He says that He is love.
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8
What did He do with sin?
Surely he hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows: Yet we did esteem him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was
(He hurts with you. He feels your griefs and sorrows.)
wounded for our transgressions, He was
(He took our transgressions on Himself on the cross)
bruised for our iniquities:
(He suffered and died for our iniquities)
The chastisement of our peace was upon him;
And with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; And
the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4–6
To rescue us, He became sin, was made sin so we could be made the very righteousness of God in Christ. II Corinthians 5:21
God took all our sins, failures, transgressions, iniquities, or any other synonym and paid the price. He made believers new creatures. God makes the past disappear and makes everything new (II Corinthians 5:17).
Conclusion
“I AM” forgives it all. God doesn’t ignore sin but takes it on Himself and settles the account. The Father was in Christ while Christ was on the cross. God loves you. He wants all to know that He has taken sin off the table, and all people need to do is accept the free gift of salvation. It is believe it is done, and it is done.
No doing for you. Jesus paid it all.
