Nighttime Whispers of Grace: God's Love in Our Sleep
Discovering the Father's Heart Through Psalm 127:2
As I lay in bed waiting to drift off to sleep, and then when I woke during the night, I meditated on this verse:
For so he giveth his beloved sleep. Psalm 127:2.
It blows my mind that God is so in love with us that He loves to give us rest and sleep. We are His beloved by grace, mercy, and faith. Remember, Jesus is the Savior of all men, especially those who believe. (I Timothy 4:10.)
He has already paid for all your sins, even if you are an unbeliever. All you have to do is believe and trust that He loves you and has taken on your sins for you. You believe and accept the gift.
He loves you. You are His beloved. God loves you like He loves Jesus (John 17:23). He cares even about your sleep. Our Father doesn’t want you to live a life of fear and anxiety. He wants you to cast all your cares on Him (I Peter 5:7). He wants you not to be anxious or worried about anything (Philippians 4:6).
You may have a different concept of our Father. Perhaps He may appear to you as an austere tyrant. You may think that He hates you or is out to get you. The world and religion would paint Him that way, but that is not who He is at all. He is totally the opposite.
From the very beginning, when Adam and Eve sinned, it was God who came in love, not judgment, and covered their nakedness and shame. He is not angry, but merciful. He cares about you, and His mercy is always available.
He feels your pain no matter where you are or what you are going through. God became man and lived among us so that the hurts and pains of life could truly touch Him. (Hebrews 4:15.)
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, all the Godhead, want you to come boldly to the throne of grace to find help in times of need. (Hebrews 4:16.)
What freedom and joy do we find when we understand how our Father loves us, cares for us, feels our every pain, hears our prayers, seeks our best, and is really intimately in touch with us? His love is our ultimate source of security and comfort.
He knows the number of hairs on your head. Our Father will not give you a stone if you ask for bread. He will not give you a snake if you ask for fish.
Stop listening to the lies of the devil, the enemy of God, the liar, and believe the truth.
