Building Strong and Authentic Relationships
"Nurturing Authentic Relationships through Empathy, Respect, and Genuine Connection"
Steps to Strong and Authentic Relationships
Be genuinely interested in others and their lives. People want to know if you care, want to help, and can be trusted.
Listen actively and empathetically to what others have to say. That means stopping talking, stopping planning what you are going to say, and really paying attention. It means thinking about what they are saying, maybe asking for clarification, but generally wanting to know what they are thinking and saying.
Isn't the key to any relationship our character? Are you kind? Do you show compassion? Are you honest? Are you using people or really loving them?
You don't always have to be right or win. Friends don't always agree. They just accept the other person as they are instead of demanding compliance and submission.
Be positive and uplifting in your interactions with others. They need to know you are there and care. They want to see that you believe in them. Can they relax and be themselves around you, or must they walk on eggshells?
Share your time, yourself, and your resources. Be a giver. Give without looking to get.ย
Be willing to apologize and forgive when conflicts arise. Love covers a multitude of sins.
Be an encourager
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Build the other up
Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.ย Romans 15:2
Forgive each other
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christโs sake hath forgiven you.Ephesians 4:32
Donโt quit loving
A friend loveth at all times, And a brother is born for adversity. Proverbs 17:17
Share burdens and joys
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.ย Romans 12:15
Bear ye one anotherโs burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2.
