Jesus declares that He came for many reasons. He adamantly states that He never came to condemn, punish, or sentence us. He came to rescue us.
Jesus didn't have His own agenda. God the Father loves us. So often, it seems the Father's love is left out of the story, but if you recall, God so loved the world that He gave His Son.
Jesus came to destroy the Devil and His dark deeds of death. But more than that, Jesus came to connect us to the Father.
God created us, and we were lost to Him. We, as the human race, walked out on Him. We chose to live our lives as we saw fit, to make our own decisions, to decide for ourselves what is right and wrong. Humans wanted to make themselves their own God.
Jesus came to find us and take us back to the Father. he was on the Father's mission.
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10
The human race had no way to get to God, so Jesus came to be that way. He brought us truth and life.
‌Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Jesus was God in human flesh living among us. To see Jesus was to see the Father. Jesus was in God the Father and the Father was in Jesus.
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. John 14:10
Eternal life is knowing the only true God and Jesus. So often, we focus on heaven after death, but eternal life, as Jesus described it, is knowing the Father.
‌And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3
We know so little of our Father. We talk much of the Son and much of the Holy Spirit but seem to forget God our Father, our Abba.
God wants us to know Him intimately. Lets deepen our understanding of His love this Christmas. He loves you personally and deeply.
Let's eagerly embrace the opportunity to worship this Christmas, as it is a time to connect with God and experience His love and grace.
To have a face to face relationship. Do your remember the old hymn Face to Face? Not only do we want to be face to face with Christ our Savior but also with God our Father.
Eternal life is to know Him now. We can worship Him this Christmas and every day.
I love the hymn Face to Face by Carrie Ellis Breck. Maybe these hymns will help you enjoy a moment of worship.
Face to face with Christ my Savior,
Face to face--what will it be
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me?
Chorus:
Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by!
Only faintly now I see Him
With the darkened veil between,
But a blessed day is coming
When His glory shall be seen.
[Chorus]
What rejoicing in His presence,
When are banished grief and pain;
When the crooked ways are straightened
And the dark things shall be plain.
[Chorus]
Face to face--oh, blissful moment!
Face to face--to see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so.
[Chorus]
Another hymn, Some Day the Silver Cord Will Break, by Fanny Crosby, that expresses our love for God and our desire to see Him face to face.
Some day the silver cord will break,
And I no more as now shall sing;
But, O the joy when I shall wake
Within the presence of the King!
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story, saved by grace:
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story, saved by grace.

Some day my earthly house will fall,
I cannot tell how soon 'twill be,
But this I know—my All in all
Has now a place with Him for me.
3
Or some day when my Lord will come,
And called to meet Him I'll be blest,
He then will say to me, "Well done,"
And I shall enter into rest.
4
Some day, till then I'll watch and wait,
My lamp all trimmed and burning bright,
That when my Savior I will greet,
My faith will then be changed to sight.
This song was one of my dad's favorites when I was a boy. I can imagine Him now as He has been in heaven for years and this son is real in his life.
In The Garden
by C. Austin Miles
I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses;
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear,
The Son of God discloses.
(Refrain)
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
He speaks, and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing;
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
(Refrain)
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
I'd stay in the garden with Him
Tho' the night around me be falling;
But He bids me go; thro' the voice of woe,
His voice to me is calling.
(Refrain)
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
Jesus came so we could know Him and God the Father and be in dwelt by God the Holy Spirit. So when you celebrate Christmas think about all that God has done for us by coming as a human to seek and save us and to take us to the Father.
