Are You Addicted to Anxiety
So easy to fall into the trap of anxiety. The news and social media leave us with no shortage of things to worry about. Have you become addicted to anxiety?
Does worry and fear consume your thoughts and actions, leaving you feeling trapped in a cycle of unease?
Do we allow anxiety to dictate our every move? Are we stuck on the treadmill of worry and unable to break free from its relentless grip?
Anxiety can give us a false sense of control. We want to stay one step ahead, to expect and prepare for the worst. Our anxiety keeps us stuck in fear because our worrying accomplishes nothing.
Anxiety is like a weight in our hearts that sinks us into desperation.
Maybe you are like one person who said they didn’t worry because worry was a sin. They were only concerned. Use whatever form of the word you choose, being on edge, irritable, tense, concerned, worried, or anxious. We all want victory over this unease.
What is the remedy for anxiety?
Deal with the problems you have right now, today. Wait to work on tomorrow’s problems till tomorrow. Matthew 6:34.
Take your problems to the Lord in prayer. Tell the Lord and then leave them in God’s hands. Philippians 4:6
Humbly accept whatever God is doing in your life and wait for Him. I Peter 5:6.
Throw your worries, problems, and burdens on the Lord. I Peter 5:7
Recognize that it is Satan who looks to get you consumed in the things best left in the Lord’s hands. I Peter 5:8
Wait on the Lord. God hears your cry. He has not changed. He still loves you. Nothing that happens to us surprises Him. We may feel that God no longer cares about us or what happens to us, but we have a promise that he will never leave us or forsake us. He knows everything that is happening. He has strength and energy for us if we wait on Him. Isaiah 40:27-31.
So we change our thinking and give thanks to the Lord in everything. I Thessalonians 5:18.
Are You Addicted to Anxiety?
In the grip of anxiety, do you find yourself bound,
By worries and fears, in an endless round?
Does it dictate your steps, control your every move,
Leaving you trapped in a cycle, unable to prove?
Anxiety, a weight upon the heart, a burden we bear,
It sinks us into despair, fills us with despair.
We seek control, to anticipate the worst,
Yet our worrying achieves naught, it's a curse.
Some say worry's a sin, concern a virtue instead,
Yet it leaves us on edge, in turmoil, in dread.
But victory over unease, we all desire to find,
To break free from anxiety's relentless bind.
The remedy lies in dealing with today's plight,
Leaving tomorrow's troubles for the morrow's light.
Take your burdens to the Lord, in prayer confide,
Humbly accept His will, in Him abide.
Cast your worries upon Him, let them go,
For Satan seeks to consume you in woe.
Wait upon the Lord, His strength to renew,
He hears your cries, His love for you true.
Change your thinking, give thanks in every way,
For in His hands, you'll find peace each day.
