Abundant Blessings: Reflecting on God's Infinite Generosity
Discovering the Overlooked Riches in Christ
God abundantly blesses his people. Let’s take a moment to reflect on the sheer magnitude of these blessings that we often overlook. Join me in this meditation today.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Ephesians 1:3
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17
He not only poured out His blessings and riches on me, but He also keeps us. His keeping is not a one-time act, but a continuous process. He guards us, puts a hedge of protection around us, and ensures our well-being. As Psalm 121:1-8 beautifully illustrates, He is our constant protector, never slumbering or sleeping, always preserving us from evil.
That means God guards and puts a hedge of protection around us.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, Which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is thy keeper: The Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, Nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in From this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121:1
Let’s shift our perspective from complaints to gratitude. The old hymn says, “Count your many blessings, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done!Let’s spend a moment appreciating our blessings and meditating on the Lord’s goodness.
Thank the Lord for all of His goodness in your life until now. Think of the many times and ways He has protected you and your loved ones from harm. Consider how He has provided for you, kept your health, and answered your prayers. Share your blessings with others, and let’s encourage each other.
Let’s remember that we are a blessed people and blessed to be a blessing. Continue to cultivate a spirit of gratitude, always recognizing and appreciating the spiritual blessings that God has given upon us.
